It should not be administered to patients with gastrointestinal issues such as gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, as this medication may stimulate gastrointestinal motility and worsen their condition. Patients with specific tumors, such as pheochromocytoma, should be cautious as this medication may cause dangerously high blood pressure. Patients with an allergic reaction to this medication or severe intolerable side effects should avoid its use. This medication should not be administered to patients in the manic phase of epilepsy, rapid cycling bipolar disorder, or other manic conditions as it may exacerbate symptoms. Patients with breast diseases should be cautious as this medication may affect hormone secretion and worsen symptoms. Patients with lactose or galactose related genetic disorders should avoid this medication due to its ingredients. Patients with hypertension, children, and the elderly should be cautious when using this medication as the likelihood of side effects is higher. This medication may cause side effects such as amenorrhea, excessive lactation, and gynecomastia due to hormonal secretion abnormalities, thus it should be discontinued immediately if these symptoms occur. Neurological abnormal symptoms such as movement disorders or involuntary movements may rarely occur, so caution is needed. Gastrointestinal symptoms may include dry mouth, heartburn, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation. Cardiac issues such as hypertension or arrhythmia may occur, so patients with heart diseases need to be cautious. A serious side effect called neuroleptic malignant syndrome may rarely occur, presenting with high fever, muscle rigidity, and altered consciousness, requiring immediate treatment if these symptoms appear. Other side effects such as rash, swelling, insomnia, drowsiness, dizziness, and erectile dysfunction have also been reported, so if abnormal symptoms arise, consultation with a doctor is necessary. It is recommended to avoid activities requiring concentration, such as driving or operating machinery, while taking this medication. Interactions with other drugs may occur, particularly when taken with anticholinergics, analgesics, digitalis preparations, or other psychiatric medications, so it is important to follow expert guidance in such cases. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not use this medication, as safety for the fetus and newborn has not been established. Elderly individuals should be aware that medications may remain in the body longer due to decreased kidney function, necessitating careful dosage adjustment and monitoring for side effects.
