Adult dose
As terbinafine, administer 125 mg twice daily or 250 mg once daily. The treatment duration depends on the condition as follows: 1) Dermatophytosis: Tinea pedis (interdigital type, plantar/moccasin type): 2-6 weeks; Tinea corporis: 2-4 weeks; Tinea cruris: 2-4 weeks. 2) Onychomycosis: Generally administered for 6 weeks to 3 months. If infection occurs in the nails or relatively small toes, or in younger patients, the treatment duration may be shortened to less than 3 months. Usually, 3 months is sufficient for nail infections, but it may take longer than 6 months in some patients, especially those with slow nail growth.
Child dose
Administer to children over 2 years old. Administration to children under 2 years old is not recommended. Tinea capitis: 4 weeks. For children weighing less than 20 kg (under 5 years old): 62.5 mg once daily.

This medication is used for the treatment of tinea pedis, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, onychomycosis in adults, and tinea capitis in children caused by dermatophytes.

How to take

Adult dose

As terbinafine, administer 125 mg twice daily or 250 mg once daily. The treatment duration depends on the condition as follows: 1) Dermatophytosis: Tinea pedis (interdigital type, plantar/moccasin type): 2-6 weeks; Tinea corporis: 2-4 weeks; Tinea cruris: 2-4 weeks. 2) Onychomycosis: Generally administered for 6 weeks to 3 months. Precautions

This medication is not recommended for patients with liver problems or a history of liver disease. Regular liver function tests should be performed before and during treatment, and if any signs of liver dysfunction occur, the medication should be discontinued immediately and a doctor consulted. This medication can have a serious impact on liver function and poses a risk of liver failure, so caution is needed. Patients with allergies to this medication, specific blood disorders, severe renal impairment, children under 2 years old, and nursing women should not use it. Patients with certain genetic disorders like lactose intolerance should also not take this medication. Use in patients with weak kidney function, elderly patients, and children weighing less than 20 kg should be done cautiously, and if severe skin reactions occur, the medication should be stopped immediately. This medication should also be used with caution in patients with skin diseases or systemic lupus erythematosus. During treatment, various side effects like rash, itching, nausea, fatigue, muscle pain, headache, visual disturbances may occur, so any unusual symptoms should be reported to a doctor. Care should be taken when driving or operating machinery if dizziness occurs. Interactions may occur when taken with other drugs, so inform your doctor if you are taking any other medications. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a doctor before taking this medication, and nursing mothers should discontinue breastfeeding. Children and elderly patients should be particularly careful and monitor their physical condition closely while taking this medication. In case of overdose, symptoms such as headache, nausea, abdominal pain, and dizziness may occur, and immediate medical attention is required. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored at room temperature away from direct sunlight.

Serious side effects

Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with fever, blisters, peeling skin, pain in the mucous membranes of the mouth/eyes, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attack, respiratory abnormalities accompanied by cough and fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), severe malaise, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, urination difficulties.

Mild side effects

Fatigue, nausea, decreased appetite, vomiting, malaise, rash, itching, photosensitivity reactions, anemia, musculoskeletal responses (joint pain, muscle pain), weakness, headache, taste disturbances, dizziness, drowsiness, sensory abnormalities, insomnia, elevated BUN, tinnitus, visual disturbances, hypotension, erythema, lymphadenopathy, gastrointestinal symptoms (abdominal distension, dyspepsia, diarrhea), depression, anxiety, increased total cholesterol in the blood, increased triglycerides, tongue discoloration, palpitations.

Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.

Storage

This medication can be sensitive to air and moisture, so it should be stored in a tightly sealed container. A storage temperature of 1 to 30 degrees Celsius at room temperature is recommended to maintain the effectiveness of the medication.
