Benign prostatic hyperplasia is a condition in which the prostate enlarges, making urination difficult. This medication improves symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia and helps facilitate urinary flow by reducing the enlarged prostate. It also effectively decreases the occurrence of acute urinary retention and lowers the necessity for surgeries related to the prostate. In short, this drug is used to alleviate various symptoms associated with prostate enlargement and prevent surgery.

How to take

Adult dose

As Finasteride, administer 5 mg orally once daily without regard to meals. Even if symptoms improve, at least 6 months of treatment is necessary.

Precautions

This medication should not be administered to children or women, especially pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, should avoid contact with broken pieces of this medication. Exposure to the drug during pregnancy poses a risk of causing external genitalia abnormalities in male fetuses. There may be symptoms of depression or mood changes while taking this medication, and if such symptoms appear, a healthcare professional should be consulted. Patients with hypersensitivity to this drug or congenital lactose intolerance should not use it.
