This medication should not be used by those who have had allergic reactions to it. Rarely, severe allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis may occur while taking this medication, so if symptoms appear, stop taking it immediately and seek medical assistance. As it may affect liver function, the medication should be discontinued if abnormal liver enzyme levels or symptoms of jaundice appear. Skin reactions such as hives, rash, and itching may occur, so if these symptoms arise, stop taking the medication and consult a doctor. Safety in children, especially newborns and low birth weight infants, has not been sufficiently established, so caution is advised. In elderly patients, the incidence of general adverse reactions is similar to that of younger individuals; however, due to decreased bodily function, gastrointestinal symptoms should be monitored more closely.
