Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, those who are allergic to this drug or its components, those with gastrointestinal or bowel obstruction, those with weak gastrointestinal motility, those with difficulty in urination, patients with glaucoma, patients with severe myasthenia gravis, individuals with severe heart disease, those with liver or colon problems, and those who genetically cannot digest certain sugars, should not take this drug. Additionally, individuals with urination difficulties, liver or kidney issues, those with Parkinson's disease or cerebrovascular disease, patients with hyperthyroidism, elderly patients, individuals with autonomic nervous system disorders or heart disease, and glaucoma patients should use this drug cautiously. While taking this medication, serious side effects such as mental disturbances, severe constipation or abdominal bloating, heart rhythm irregularities, blood abnormalities, kidney function decline, skin rashes, acute glaucoma attacks, liver function abnormalities, muscle pain, etc., may occur; if symptoms arise, immediately discontinue use and consult a physician. During treatment, careful monitoring for other conditions such as bladder cancer, prostate cancer, urinary tract infections, and urinary stones is necessary; if there is lower urinary tract obstruction, that condition should be treated first. Furthermore, this drug may cause drowsiness, dizziness, and visual disturbances, so driving or operating dangerous machinery is to be avoided. Caution is necessary when combined with anticholinergics or specific antidepressants and psychiatric medications, as side effects may increase. It is advisable for pregnant women or those who might become pregnant, as well as nursing mothers, to avoid this medication. For children, safety has not been established, so it is best not to use this drug; for the elderly, due to possibly reduced liver and kidney function, starting at a lower dose is suggested and should be done cautiously. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hallucinations, convulsions, difficulty urinating, heart rhythm abnormalities, and increased blood pressure may occur, requiring immediate emergency treatment. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to another container. Lastly, in animal studies, the possibility of liver tumor development was reported with high-dose administration, so caution is warranted with prolonged high-dose usage.
