Improvement of gastric ulcers and gastric mucosal lesions, relief of excessive stomach acid
This medication is used for the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. It also helps prevent Mendelson's syndrome before anesthesia and ulcer prevention after surgery. Additionally, it is effective for gastric and duodenal ulcers caused by the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It aids in the improvement of gastric mucosal lesions such as exacerbations of acute and chronic gastritis, upper gastrointestinal bleeding, erosion, hemorrhage, redness, and swelling. It is used to relieve symptoms of heartburn and acid regurgitation due to excessive stomach acid, thereby improving patients' overall gastric health.
As ranitidine, take 150 mg orally 2 times a day, in the morning and before bedtime. 1) Gastric and duodenal ulcers: Take 150 mg orally 2 times a day or 300 mg once a day at bedtime. Particularly, for duodenal ulcer patients, taking 300 mg 2 times a day, in the morning and at bedtime, can improve the treatment rate. 2) Gastroesophageal reflux disease: For 8 weeks, take 150 mg orally 2 times a day, or take 300 mg once a day before bedtime.
For children aged 8 to 18 years, a single dose of 150 mg (2 mg per kg of body weight), up to 2 times a day can be administered.
This medication should not be used in patients with a history of allergic reactions to this drug or its components. Administration should also be avoided in patients with a history of acute porphyria, as this drug may induce acute attacks. In patients with impaired renal function, the blood concentration of this medication may increase, so dosage adjustment or prolonging the administration interval may be required. Patients with liver dysfunction should also use this medication with caution. Patients with a history of drug allergies, the elderly, and those taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should regularly monitor their condition. Gastric cancer symptoms can be masked, so patients with gastric ulcers or middle-aged patients with recent changes in dyspeptic symptoms should confirm the absence of malignant diseases before using this medication. For patients with positive Helicobacter pylori in gastric or duodenal ulcers, bacterial eradication therapy should be conducted concurrently. This medication may rarely cause serious allergic reactions or blood abnormalities, liver dysfunction, heart problems, gastrointestinal symptoms, neurological abnormalities, skin rashes, etc., so if any unusual symptoms occur, discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention. Regular monitoring of patients' blood, liver, and kidney functions during treatment is important. In particular, elderly patients or those with chronic lung disease, diabetes, or weakened immunity may have a higher risk of pneumonia. Avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery if dizziness or drowsiness occurs. This medication may interact with other drugs, so inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medications. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, as well as breastfeeding women, should use this medication cautiously only when necessary. The safety in children has not been adequately confirmed, so caution is needed. Elderly patients may have increased blood concentration due to decreased kidney function, necessitating dosage adjustments. Some tests may yield false-positive results while taking this medication, so this should be considered during testing. Although overdose rarely leads to specific toxic symptoms, appropriate treatment such as vomiting or gastric lavage is necessary, and in some cases, hemodialysis may be required. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and transferring it to another container can negatively affect quality. Prolonged use may affect the eyes, so an eye examination may be necessary. Finally, using this medication may reduce gastric acid secretion, increasing the risk of bacterial proliferation in the gastrointestinal tract.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container to prevent exposure to air and moisture. It is best to keep it in a dry place at room temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius.
