Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. First, patients who are allergic to or have had hypersensitivity reactions to the ingredients of this drug should not take it. Additionally, this medication may be dangerous for patients with gastrointestinal problems such as gastrointestinal bleeding, intestinal obstruction, or perforation, and should not be administered. Patients with prolactin-secreting tumors should avoid using this drug as it may increase prolactin secretion. Patients concurrently taking strong CYP3A4 inhibitors and drugs that prolong the QTc interval should also not use this medication. It is not administered to patients with moderate to severe liver impairment or to women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. This medication is contraindicated in patients with heart conditions such as prolonged cardiac conduction intervals, electrolyte imbalances, and heart failure. Furthermore, patients with certain genetic metabolic disorders such as lactose intolerance or galactose intolerance should not take some formulations of this drug. There are also patients who need to be administered with caution. Children, patients with renal impairment or mild liver impairment, elderly patients, and those with a history of heart disease should be careful when taking this medication. As this drug is primarily metabolized in the liver, patients with decreased liver function require dosage adjustments and monitoring. In patients with renal failure, the drug's excretion can be delayed, so the frequency and dosage should be reduced. Patients with a history of breast cancer should use this medication with caution due to the risk of increased prolactin secretion. Taking this medication may cause drowsiness or dizziness, so it is advisable to avoid activities requiring alertness, such as driving or operating machinery, after taking it. Due to the risk of cardiac side effects, especially elderly patients or those with heart disease should consult a physician before taking it, and should seek immediate medical advice if any cardiac-related symptoms occur. This drug can interact with multiple medications, so it is important to inform your physician or pharmacist if you are taking other drugs. In particular, combining it with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors or QTc prolonging drugs may increase the risk of side effects. It is safer for pregnant or nursing women not to take this medication, and if breastfeeding, they should consult a physician as it could affect the baby. In children, dosage is restricted according to weight, and special caution is necessary in infants under 1 year as they may experience neurological adverse reactions such as extrapyramidal disorders. In case of overdose, neurological symptoms and cardiac side effects may occur, requiring immediate medical intervention and strict monitoring, including ECG monitoring. When storing, keep this medication in a tightly closed container out of reach of children and in its original container to maintain quality. This drug promotes gastrointestinal motility, which may affect the absorption of other medications, so it is important to adhere to dosing times and methods.
