During the use of this medication, severe allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis may rarely occur; therefore, if symptoms appear, discontinue use immediately and seek appropriate treatment. Additionally, there may be a reduction in white blood cell or platelet counts, so blood status should be carefully monitored. Since there is a possibility of liver function problems, if liver function test results are abnormal, the medication should be discontinued. If skin hypersensitivity reactions such as hives, rashes, or itching occur, the medication should be stopped. Neurological symptoms may occur, such as paralysis, dizziness, and drowsiness, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as dry mouth, constipation, abdominal bloating, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, abdominal pain, belching, and taste disturbances may occur. If there is an increase in liver enzyme levels or fever and rash occur together, immediately stop taking the medication and consult a doctor. Blood-related abnormal symptoms such as thrombocytopenia and leukocyte changes may occur, so regular blood tests are necessary. Various side effects may appear, including breast pain, gynecomastia, palpitations, fever, facial flushing, tongue paralysis, cough, shortness of breath, hair loss, menstrual irregularities, and edema; any unusual symptoms should be reported. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only take this medication when the therapeutic effect is deemed to outweigh the risks. Lactating women should avoid this medication as it may be transmitted through breast milk. Safety in children, especially low birth weight infants, neonates, infants, and children, has not been fully established, so caution is required. Elderly individuals have decreased physiological functions, thus requiring more caution regarding gastrointestinal side effects and others.
