Treatment of hypertension and stable angina
This medication is used for hypertension and stable angina.
Swallow this drug whole with water. Do not divide, chew, or crush it. 1. Hypertension For felodipine, the initial dose is 5㎎ orally once daily, and the maintenance dose is 5-10㎎ daily, administered in the morning. Do not exceed a maximum daily dose of 20㎎. This drug may be administered in combination with a β-blocker or diuretic, or as monotherapy when other antihypertensive drugs are inappropriate. Adjust the dose according to the patient's response to treatment. 2. Stable angina The initial dose is 5㎎ once daily and may be increased to 10㎎ if necessary. This drug may be administered in combination when a β-blocker does not provide a sufficient effect. Adjust the dose according to the patient's response to treatment. 3. Elderly patients Administer cautiously while monitoring the patient's condition; consider an initial dose of 2.5㎎ once daily. 4. Patients with renal impairment Renal impairment does not affect the plasma concentration of felodipine. Dose adjustment is not necessary, but administer cautiously to patients with severe renal impairment (GFR<30ml/min). 5. Patients with hepatic impairment Plasma felodipine concentrations may increase in patients with hepatic impairment, and a response to treatment may occur at lower doses. Therefore, administer cautiously to patients with hepatic dysfunction, considering an initial dose of 2.5㎎ once daily; this drug should not be administered to patients with severe hepatic dysfunction.
Safety and efficacy in children have not been established.
