This drug improves symptoms caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia and helps to reduce the enlarged prostate, facilitating urine flow. It also reduces the frequency of acute urinary retention, thus decreasing the need for surgeries such as prostatectomy or transurethral resection of the prostate. Due to these effects, it is effectively used for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia.
