Alcigen Soft Capsule

Adult dose

1 capsule at a time, 2–3 times a day before meals.

This medication should not be used in patients with allergic reactions to its components. It is also not safe to administer to patients with hypotension. Patients with functional bowel obstruction due to gastrointestinal issues should not be treated with this medication. While taking this medication, rare allergic reactions such as hives, itching, or rashes may occur. In severe cases, serious reactions such as laryngeal edema or shock may develop, requiring caution. Gastrointestinal abnormalities such as diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, abdominal pain, vomiting, and loss of appetite may occur. Occasionally, liver dysfunction may manifest; in that case, the medication can return to normal after discontinuation. Additionally, headaches or dizziness may rarely occur. Cases of constipation have also been reported in domestic studies. Athletes should be cautious as this medication can cause a positive reaction in doping tests. It is essential to follow the prescribed dosage and administration strictly. If any abnormal symptoms occur during use, the medication should be discontinued immediately, and a doctor or pharmacist consulted. If taking other medications, be sure to inform your doctor or pharmacist to prevent drug interactions. There is insufficient evidence to suggest that this medication is safe for use in pregnant women; therefore, it is advisable to avoid use if possible. Similarly, safety has not been established for breastfeeding women, so it is preferable not to take this medication. The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been adequately proven for children under 18 years of age, so its use is not recommended. In the case of overdose, hypotension or atropine-like toxic symptoms may appear. In such cases, treatment for hypotension and atropine detoxification should be implemented. This medication should be stored out of reach of children. Furthermore, transferring the medication to another container may cause accidents or deterioration of the drug's quality; thus, it must be kept in its original container.
