This medication is used as a treatment for patients with hypertension. It is particularly helpful in preventing and treating kidney disease in patients with type 2 diabetes who have hypertension. Therefore, it is effective in preventing complications related to the management of hypertension.

How to take

Adult dose

Hypertension: Administer 50 mg orally once daily as an initial and maintenance dose. If the treatment effect is insufficient, dosage may be increased to a maximum of 100 mg daily either as two divided doses or as one dose. Kidney disease in patients with type 2 diabetes: Typically, 50 mg is administered once daily, with the dose increased to a maximum of 100 mg daily depending on blood pressure. Precautions

This medication can cause serious damage to the fetus when taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Women who are likely to become pregnant should refrain from taking this medication. Patients with severely impaired liver function or hereditary lactose intolerance should not use this medication. Elderly patients, those with weak kidney function, or patients with high serum potassium levels should use this medication with caution and require regular testing. This medication lowers blood pressure, so caution should be taken for symptoms of hypotension when initially starting the medication or increasing the dose. Potassium supplements or other medications containing potassium should not be taken concurrently as it may increase potassium levels in the blood. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur during treatment, so caution should be exercised when driving or operating hazardous machinery. This medication can affect liver and kidney function, so if any unusual symptoms arise, consult a physician immediately. Regular monitoring of blood pressure and blood tests is important to check health status during treatment. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension and bradycardia may occur, and immediate medical attention should be sought if symptoms are severe.
