Improvement of hypertension and angina
Hypertension and angina are typical cardiovascular diseases, and this medication is used to alleviate the symptoms of these conditions and control blood pressure.
1. Hypertension: The initial dose for adults is atenolol 50mg once daily, alone or in combination with a diuretic (thiazide type). If no effect is observed within 1 to 2 weeks, the dose may be increased to 100mg once daily, not exceeding 100mg daily. 2. Angina: Administer 100mg daily in 1 to 2 divided doses, not exceeding 100mg daily. 3. Patients with renal impairment: Creatinine clearance
This drug should not be given to certain patients. For example, patients who are allergic to the active ingredient or excipients, those with severe bronchial asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, those with bradycardia, and those with severe hypotension should not use this medicine. Patients with bronchial asthma or heart function problems, those with poorly controlled diabetes, patients with impaired liver or kidney function, and the elderly should use this drug with caution and under the supervision of a physician if necessary. When taking this medication, side effects such as skin rash, itching, decreased tear production, vision abnormalities, heart rhythm irregularities, dizziness, indigestion, and difficulty breathing may occur, so if these symptoms arise, consult a doctor immediately. For those taking this medication for an extended period, regular monitoring of heart function, blood pressure, and pulse is required. Abruptly stopping the medication can worsen heart symptoms, so the dosage must be reduced gradually according to the physician's instructions. During the use of this medication, it is advisable to avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery, and one should inform the doctor of any other medications being taken, as interactions may occur. Pregnant or nursing women should be cautious about the use of this drug and consult a doctor if necessary. Children and the elderly may require special attention as the safety of this drug has not been fully established, and the risk of side effects may be higher. In case of overdose, severe bradycardia, hypotension, difficulty breathing, hypoglycemia, etc., may occur, and immediate medical attention should be sought. Finally, this medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in its original container, avoiding high temperatures above 25 degrees Celsius.
