This medication is used to improve digestive function abnormalities associated with esophageal reflux, hiatal hernia, gastritis, gastric or duodenal ulcers, presenting symptoms such as abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, and vomiting. It also helps relieve symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome and spastic colon. In children, it is effective in improving habitual vomiting as well as constipation or diarrhea caused by non-infectious gastrointestinal transit disorders. Overall, this medicine is used to alleviate various gastrointestinal disease symptoms and normalize digestive functions.

How to take

Adult dose

As Trimebutine Maleate, take 100-200mg orally three times a day before meals. Adjust dosage appropriately according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication can affect the digestive system, and may rarely cause symptoms such as constipation or diarrhea, abdominal sounds, nausea and vomiting, dyspepsia, dry mouth, or a feeling of numbness in the mouth. Additionally, symptoms of a fast heart rate may rarely occur. It may also affect the mental or nervous system, causing fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, lethargy, and headaches. There may be a rare increase in liver enzyme levels affecting liver function. Allergic reactions such as skin rash may occur, and if such symptoms appear, the medication should be discontinued immediately. The safety of this medication during pregnancy is not established, so women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use it when the therapeutic benefits are determined to outweigh the risks. Breastfeeding women should also avoid taking this medication, and if absolutely necessary, they should discontinue breastfeeding. This medication contains lactose, so individuals with a genetic condition that prevents lactose digestion should not take this medication.
