View approved original text

Androgenetic alopecia, or male pattern hair loss, is a hair loss condition primarily caused by genetic factors and the effects of male hormones. This medication helps to slow or stop the progression of hair loss, preventing gradual hair loss. It improves blood flow to the affected areas and helps normalize the hair growth cycle to maintain healthy hair. With consistent use, a reduction in hair loss symptoms and an increase in hair density can be expected. Therefore, it is used for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

After completely drying the hair and scalp, apply 0.5 to 1 mL of this medication to the affected area twice daily (morning and evening) for at least 4 months. The total daily dosage should not exceed 2 mL.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by female patients or children under 18 years of age. Additionally, patients who have allergies to this medication or its ingredients, or those with cardiovascular diseases, should not use it. Those who have hair loss not related to genetics or who have sudden localized hair loss, inflammation, or infection of the scalp should avoid its use. It is advisable not to use this medication in combination with other scalp treatments or when the scalp is shaved. While using this medication, certain topical medications or vasodilators should not be used together, as there is a risk of side effects such as low blood pressure. Elderly patients or those with edema or thyroid dysfunction must consult a healthcare professional before use, and caution is advised for those who are allergic to any ingredient in this medication. If symptoms such as itching or rash, headache, dizziness, or heart-related symptoms occur, use should be discontinued immediately and consultation with a healthcare professional should occur. This medication can affect the heart and blood vessels if excessively absorbed, so it is important to check health status before use. If a dose is missed, take the next scheduled dose without doubling it. This medication is not effective for hair loss due to specific causes or scalp diseases, and serious side effects can occur with overdose. Avoid using on areas outside the scalp and refrain from bandaging it tightly. Be careful to avoid contact with the eyes or sensitive areas, and wash hands thoroughly after use. It is advised to use hair styling products only after this medication has completely dried, and the use of hair dryers for scalp dryness is not recommended. This medication is flammable, so avoid flames or heat, and keep it out of reach of children. Additionally, it should be stored safely in its original container and tightly closed.
