Iron deficiency anemia occurs due to a lack of iron in the body, and this medication is used to supplement iron to prevent and treat anemia.

How to take

Adult dose

For adults and those over 12 years old, 1 capsule once daily after meals

Precautions

This medicine can cause serious poisoning and death if ingested in large amounts by children, so it must be kept in a safe place out of reach of children. Individuals with allergies to any of the ingredients in this medicine, babies under 12 months old, or those with certain iron metabolism disorders should not use it. Patients with iron overload or certain anemias, cirrhosis, chronic pancreatitis, and similar conditions should also avoid taking this medicine. It is also advisable not to take this medicine along with phosphates, calcium salts, some antibiotics, antacids, etc. It is recommended to avoid teas containing tannins, such as green tea and black tea, as well as milk and dairy products before and after taking this medicine. If you are receiving treatment from a doctor or have gastrointestinal diseases, heart diseases, or kidney disorders, it is essential to consult a professional before taking this medicine. If symptoms such as skin rash, itching, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, black stools, fever, or other abnormalities occur while taking this medicine, stop taking it immediately and consult a doctor. It is important to adhere to the prescribed dosage and, if symptoms do not improve after a certain period, consult a professional. While taking this medicine, regular blood tests should be conducted to prevent overdose, and taking it with Vitamin C may increase iron absorption. Folic acid included in this medicine may not improve neurological symptoms in certain anemic patients, so if malignant anemia is suspected, it should be taken with vitamin B12, and caution should be exercised if the diagnosis is uncertain. Chronic alcohol abuse can cause iron overload, so caution is necessary. When storing this medicine, it should be kept away from direct sunlight in a cool, dry place, and it is advisable not to transfer it to another container.

Drug interactions

Do not take with phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, antacids. Caution should be exercised when taking with iron-containing preparations (iron supplements, MRI contrast agents, etc.), anti-aldosterone agents, triamterene, quinolones, penicillamine, cholestyramine, pancreatic extracts and vitamin E, diphosphonate salts, thyroxine, cefdinir preparations, and ascorbic acid (vitamin C) in doses over 200 mg.

Food interactions
