This medication is used to control blood pressure in patients with hypertension.

How to take

Adult dose

For initial dosage, take bisoprolol fumarate/hydrochlorothiazide 2.5/6.25 mg once daily. Dosage may be adjusted every 14 days based on the patient’s response, with a maximum daily dosage of bisoprolol fumarate/hydrochlorothiazide 20/12.5 mg. If treatment is to be discontinued, dosage should be gradually decreased over a period of more than 2 weeks, depending on the patient's condition.

Child dose

Precautions

This medication should generally not be administered to patients with bronchospastic lung diseases. However, as it acts selectively on β1 receptors, it may be used at a low dose with caution, only in cases where other treatments are ineffective. Allergic reactions or hypersensitivity may occur, and caution is especially warranted in patients with psoriasis or a history of psoriasis. In patients with hyperthyroidism, this medication may mask symptoms, and abrupt discontinuation may worsen the condition, so it should not be stopped suddenly. Patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of this medication, significant impairment of heart, kidney, or liver function, pregnant women, and children should not be administered this medication. Patients with specific heart or lung conditions such as congestive heart failure, atrioventricular block, severe hypotension, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, etc., should use this medication with special caution. Various side effects may occur with this medication, including bradycardia, hypotension, dyspnea, skin rash, gastrointestinal symptoms, etc. If such symptoms occur, immediate consultation with a healthcare provider is advised. When used for extended periods, regular monitoring of heart function, blood pressure, and liver and kidney function is necessary, and abrupt discontinuation is not recommended; dosage should be gradually reduced under a doctor's guidance. This medication may interact with other drugs, so any other medications currently being taken should be reported to a healthcare provider. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised to avoid this medication and must consult a doctor if necessary. Safety has not been established for pediatric use, and it is principle not to use in children. Elderly patients should start with a low dose and be closely monitored. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as bradycardia, hypotension, bronchospasm, heart failure, and hypoglycemia may occur, requiring immediate emergency treatment. During treatment with this medication, care should be taken to avoid excessive sun exposure, and any skin abnormalities should be reported to a healthcare provider.

Hives, severe swelling, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with high fever, blistering, skin peeling, pain in oral/ocular mucosa, difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory irregularities accompanied by coughing and fever, jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes), generalized fatigue, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, vision changes, paralysis, significantly reduced urine output, severe systemic reactions.
