Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with viral keratitis, fungal ocular diseases, mycobacterial infections, or chronic blepharitis. Especially, individuals who are hypersensitive to this drug should avoid its use. It should not be used in patients with corneal epithelial defects or ulcers, those with purulent ocular diseases, glaucoma patients, and children under 2 years old; however, if absolutely necessary, it should be used with great caution. Long-term use of this drug may increase internal eye pressure, leading to glaucoma or optic nerve damage, so regular eye pressure checks are necessary. Additionally, the risk of infection in the eye may increase, and if severe corneal damage occurs, perforation may happen, necessitating caution. Prolonged use can lead to posterior subcapsular cataracts, and immune function may be suppressed, increasing the risk of ocular infections. In cases of acute purulent ocular infections, symptoms may be masked or worsened by the use of this drug, thus caution is advised. If inflammation or pain in the eye persists or worsens for more than 48 hours, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. This drug contains phosphate, which may very rarely cause corneal calcification in patients with severe corneal damage. After cataract surgery, wound healing may be delayed and there is a risk of blister formation, necessitating caution. Long-term use can suppress bodily hormone functions, requiring periodic monitoring. Before using this medication, check if there has been prior infection with chickenpox or measles, or if vaccinations have been done, and observe carefully if there is a risk of infection. In the case of chickenpox or measles, potentially life-threatening outcomes may occur, so seek medical attention immediately if infection is suspected. Using this medication on reddened eyes without a doctor's diagnosis can lead to vision loss, so follow the directions of a healthcare professional strictly. Patients with a history of herpes simplex require regular check-ups while using this medication. If used for more than 10 days, children or patients who may not cooperate should have regular eye pressure checks. Contact lens wearers should remove their lenses before applying this medication and can reinsert them at least 30 minutes after administration. Temporary blurred vision may occur after instillation, so it is advisable to avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery. This medication may increase the risk of systemic side effects when used with certain other medications, so strict adherence to a doctor's instructions is required during combination therapy. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should avoid long-term or frequent use, and nursing mothers are advised not to use it. Children and the elderly may have different bodily functions, so use with caution in these populations. This medication is for ophthalmic use only, and care must be taken to avoid direct contact of the container tip with the eye, and it should be well shaken before use. Do not share this medication with others and store it in a cool, dry place out of reach of children. Also, avoid direct sunlight and do not transfer it to another container to maintain the quality of the drug.
