Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. First, it should not be administered to patients with a known allergy to this drug or those experiencing severe muscle weakness. Additionally, since this drug contains lactose, it should not be used in patients with genetic disorders that prevent the digestion of lactose. Caution is required in patients using this medication. Patients with a history of drug allergies or liver function issues should use this medication cautiously. Liver function may worsen, so it is essential to monitor the liver condition closely. While taking this medication, various side effects may occur, albeit infrequently. For example, a severe allergic reaction such as shock may occur, so treatment should be immediately discontinued and appropriate care sought upon symptom presentation. Liver enzyme elevation, kidney dysfunction, anemia, and other blood abnormalities may also emerge; thus, symptoms should be observed carefully. Skin rashes or itching may occur, and psychiatric symptoms such as insomnia, drowsiness, headaches, and numbness in the limbs may manifest. Gastrointestinal symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, and urinary system issues may be reported rarely. Systemically, symptoms like lethargy, dizziness, muscle tone reduction may present, and rarely sweating or edema can occur. Moreover, although very rare, severe dermatological reactions such as toxic epidermal necrolysis syndrome may manifest, so if symptoms such as fever, rash, blisters, eye redness, or stomatitis appear, one must stop taking the medication immediately and consult with healthcare professionals. During the use of this medication, drowsiness or decreased concentration may occur, making it advisable to avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery. If severe lethargy or dizziness is experienced, it may be necessary to lower the drug dosage or discontinue its use. This medication may cause more severe side effects when taken with certain other muscle relaxants, so it is crucial to consult healthcare professionals before combining with other drugs. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use this medication if the benefits outweigh the risks due to uncertain safety, and nursing mothers should avoid administration whenever possible, and if it must be used, cessation of breastfeeding is advisable. The safety of this medication in children has not been sufficiently verified, so caution is required when using it, and elderly patients may require special attention since their physical functions may be diminished, necessitating dosage reductions.
