Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have had allergic reactions to this drug or its components. Patients with orthostatic hypotension may experience worsening symptoms, so it is advisable not to administer it. Patients with severely impaired liver function should avoid use as drug concentration may increase. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not use this medication. Patients with severely impaired kidney function should use it with caution since drug concentration may increase. Elderly patients may have decreased bodily functions, so treatment should start with a lower dose and monitored closely. Patients taking other antihypertensive medications, PDE5 inhibitors, or CYP3A4 inhibitors should be cautious due to potential drug interactions causing side effects. Patients taking alpha-1 blockers should generally not use this medication but may do so under very cautious circumstances if necessary. Patients with a history of urinary syncopal episodes should also generally avoid this drug, but may use it cautiously if needed. This medication may cause fainting or loss of consciousness due to low blood pressure, so symptoms should be closely monitored. Neurological side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, headache, and insomnia may occur, so caution should be exercised during activities like driving or hazardous work. Cardiovascular adverse reactions such as hypotension, arrhythmia, and palpitations can occur, so the patient's condition should be monitored closely. If allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching, or hives occur, the medication should be discontinued immediately. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite may occur; if discomfort persists, consult a physician. Regular monitoring of liver function is necessary as liver dysfunction or jaundice may occur. This medication can cause rare side effects such as priapism, so any unusual symptoms should be reported to a healthcare professional immediately. Patients undergoing cataract or glaucoma surgery should inform their doctor as intraoperative iris hypotension syndrome may occur. Excessive dosages may lead to excessively low blood pressure, so the prescribed dosage must be adhered to. Blood pressure may drop sharply during position changes, so it is advisable to move slowly. This medication is symptomatic treatment rather than causal; if ineffective, alternative treatments should be considered. Capsules should not be chewed or opened, and should be swallowed whole as is from the PTP package. Keep out of reach of children and do not transfer to other containers. Safety and efficacy have not been established in pregnant women or children under 18 years old.
