Precautions

This medication should not be administered to certain patients. Firstly, it should not be used by patients who have had an allergic reaction to this medication or any of its components, as serious allergic symptoms such as angioedema may occur. Additionally, patients with symptoms of orthostatic hypotension should avoid this medication, as their symptoms may worsen. Patients with severely impaired liver function may have increased plasma concentrations of this medication, so it is advisable not to use it. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should also avoid using this medication. Patients with severely impaired kidney function, the elderly, and those taking certain antihypertensives, PDE5 inhibitors, or CYP3A4 inhibitors should use this medication with caution. In particular, patients already taking alpha-1 blockers should generally avoid using this medication together, but if absolutely necessary, it should be administered with caution. Patients with a history of urinary syncope should also be cautious when using this medication. This medication can lower blood pressure, potentially leading to dizziness or orthostatic hypotension, so care should be taken to avoid positional changes during use. If symptoms occur, they should be reported immediately. In severe cases, loss of consciousness or fainting can occur, thus if any unusual symptoms arise, the medication should be discontinued, and consultation with a healthcare professional should be sought. Neurological side effects may include dizziness, drowsiness, headache, insomnia, and nervousness, while cardiovascular side effects may include increased heart rate, arrhythmia, and low blood pressure. If allergic reactions such as skin rash or itching occur, use should be discontinued immediately. Gastrointestinal symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, and diarrhea. If there are signs of liver dysfunction or jaundice, healthcare professionals should be informed immediately. This medication may cause a prolonged erection, so prompt treatment is necessary if such symptoms arise. Additionally, special precautions may be required during cataract or glaucoma surgery while taking this medication. When taking this medication, do not chew or open the capsule; it is safe to take orally disintegrating tablets with water. It is safe for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding and children under 18 years not to use this medication. In elderly patients, due to potential decreases in kidney function, administration should begin at a low dose and the condition should be monitored. This medication may interact with other antihypertensives, certain antibiotics, and anesthetics, so it is essential to inform healthcare professionals of any other medications being taken. Finally, it is safest to keep this medication out of reach of children and to avoid transferring it to other containers.
