Precautions

This medication should not be administered to certain patients. It should especially not be used in patients with allergies to this drug or similar medications, and in children under 12 years of age. Caution should be exercised in patients with severe liver or kidney dysfunction, and in those with specific diseases such as orthostatic hypotension, heart, brain, or diabetes. This medication may cause a range of side effects from mild to moderate symptoms, such as sudden fainting or dizziness, and rapid heartbeat. Additionally, patients may experience depression, increased nervousness, headache, fatigue, and insomnia. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as indigestion, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and nausea can also occur. Due to the risk of sudden drops in blood pressure leading to dizziness or fainting, particular care must be taken when starting treatment or changing dosages. While this medication is intended for the treatment of urination disorders, alternative treatment methods should be considered if it is ineffective, and it is essential to check for other underlying conditions such as prostate cancer. Patients undergoing cataract surgery should inform their doctor about taking this medication, as it may cause the pupil to move easily during surgery, requiring adjustments to the surgical technique. This medication can typically be used with other medications without major issues, but caution is needed when taken with blood pressure-lowering medications to prevent excessively low blood pressure. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the risks and benefits of taking this medication, and nursing mothers should avoid taking it if possible or stop breastfeeding. Safety and efficacy have not been established in children, so its use is not recommended. Elderly patients should start at a lower dose to prevent excessive drops in blood pressure and should be monitored closely. In cases of overdose, blood pressure can drop rapidly, so the patient should be laid down immediately, and appropriate treatment should be sought at a hospital if necessary. Finally, this medication should be kept out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container may compromise the quality of the drug, so caution is advised.
