Precautions

This medication should not be used in children or women. In particular, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should avoid contact with broken pieces of this drug. The drug is coated and prevents direct contact with the active ingredient when intact. During treatment with this medication, mood changes such as feelings of depression or suicidal thoughts may occur, so if such symptoms arise, immediate consultation with a healthcare professional is necessary. Individuals who have had an allergic reaction or hypersensitivity to this drug should not use it, and patients with liver dysfunction should use it cautiously. Generally, this medication has a good tolerance, but side effects related to sexual function may occur. Reports of erectile dysfunction, decreased libido, ejaculation disorders, enlarged breasts, breast pain, skin rash, etc., have been noted in some patients. While the long-term association with male breast cancer is not yet clear, caution is recommended as some clinical trials suggest an increased risk of high-grade prostate cancer. This medication has minimal interaction with other medications and does not affect CYP-450 enzymes, so it can be combined with various drugs without major issues. Pregnant women or nursing mothers should not take this medication, as it poses a risk of causing abnormalities in external genitalia of male fetuses. Safety and effectiveness in children have not been established, so it is not used in this population. No dosage adjustment is needed in the elderly, and there are no significant differences compared to younger patients. This medication lowers prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels by approximately 50%, which should be considered when interpreting PSA test results. Moreover, if PSA levels continuously increase during treatment, careful evaluation is necessary. There are no specific treatment methods for overdose, and no serious adverse reactions have been reported even when exceeding the recommended dose. This medication should be stored out of the reach of children, and transferring it to another container is not advisable for maintaining quality.
