This medication is used for peritoneal dialysis treatment in patients with acute and chronic renal failure.
How it is given
Adult administration
For adults, inject 1.5 to 2.5L into the abdominal cavity and allow to dwell for 4 to 8 hours, repeating this process 3 to 5 times per day.
Precautions
This medication is a dialysis solution for peritoneal dialysis, used to remove waste products and excess fluids from the patient's body.
Discontinuing peritoneal dialysis prematurely can pose a life-threatening risk, so treatment must be continued strictly according to the physician's instructions.
This medication should not be used in patients with certain conditions such as diaphragmatic defects, abdominal burns, or severe peritoneal adhesions.
Additionally, avoid administration in patients with lactic acidosis or severe electrolyte imbalances.
Patients taking digitalis preparations or suspected of having glucose metabolism disorders should regularly monitor serum potassium and blood glucose levels for careful use.
Due to the risk of peritonitis or infection, it is crucial to maintain strict aseptic conditions while using the dialysis solution.
During dialysis, regularly check for abnormalities in weight, nutritional status, and electrolyte concentrations.
The peritoneal dialysis solution must be used in its sealed container, and if the container is damaged or the solution is cloudy, it should not be used.
Pregnant or breastfeeding women should make decisions regarding the use of this medication after thorough consultation with their physician.
Dosage for children should be adjusted according to age and weight, while elderly patients should consider the risk of hernia development.
Caution is required as overdosage may lead to dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, and hyperglycemia; if issues arise, immediate medical assistance should be sought.
Peritoneal dialysis should be performed under medical supervision, and adequate education and guidance are needed for self-administration.
This medication is intended solely for peritoneal dialysis and should not be used as an injectable solution.
Warming the dialysis solution to body temperature prior to use can help reduce discomfort for the patient.
Finally, during the use of this medication, infection prevention and overall health status should be carefully monitored.
