Use with caution in patients with impaired kidney function, newborns, and infants less than 6 months old. It is advisable not to use this medication in cases of herpetiform dermatitis or before and after radioactive iodine treatment. Patients who are severely ill or have a history of thyroid disease or kidney disease should use this medication carefully. If allergic reactions such as difficulty breathing, hives, or skin rashes occur while using this medication, it should be discontinued immediately. If there is pain, itching, irritation, or redness on the skin, or if it is severe, use should be stopped. Using large amounts may lead to electrolyte imbalance, metabolic acidosis, or renal failure, so caution is needed. Regular monitoring is recommended for thyroid function changes with prolonged use. Excessive use can lead to side effects such as metallic taste, burning sensation in the mouth and throat, swelling of the eyes, diarrhea, and difficulty breathing. If used just before childbirth, it is important to thoroughly wash the newborn's eyes and skin. This medication is a conservative therapy, and if symptoms do not improve, other treatment methods should be considered. When used on patients with extensive burns, adequate hydration and monitoring of kidney function are necessary. There should be an interval of at least 1 to 2 weeks between thyroid diagnostic tests and the use of this medication, and changes in thyroid function should be monitored closely. This product contains iodine, which may lead to thyroid dysfunction with excessive or prolonged use. In case of infection, wounds should be cleaned with saline before use, and if symptoms of allergic shock occur after usage, immediate medical attention is required. Patients undergoing lithium treatment are advised not to use this medication regularly, and using it with certain antiseptics may reduce its effectiveness. Pregnant or nursing women should avoid prolonged or extensive use as it may affect fetal or neonatal thyroid function, and caution is advised. This medication can affect the results of thyroid function tests, so it should be noted during examinations. In cases of overdose, serious symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, headache, or coma may occur, requiring immediate emergency care. Care should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes, and if it occurs, it should be rinsed immediately with clean water. Do not mix with other agents, and ensure that the affected area is cleaned before application. If it gets on clothing, wash it immediately to prevent staining, and since soaps can reduce its antiseptic power, make sure to remove them before use. Store away from direct sunlight, and it is better to keep it in synthetic resin containers than in metal containers.
