Skin irritation may occur; thus, it is advisable to stop using if discomfort is experienced. The prescribed usage and dosage must be strictly adhered to, especially when used for children, it should only be used under adult supervision. Do not mix with other disinfectants; avoid combination. Urine tests collected using catheters washed with this drug may yield some incorrect test results, so this should be noted. Soaps and other substances may reduce the disinfecting effectiveness of this medication, so ensure to wash clean before use to remove any soap residue. Repeated use on the same area may lead to rough skin, so caution is needed. Organic substances like blood or pus can weaken the bactericidal effect of this medication; thus, it should be thoroughly washed off when disinfecting medical equipment.
