Precautions

This medication contains the antibiotic ingredient clindamycin, and should not be used by individuals with certain conditions or allergies. In particular, patients with allergies to clindamycin or lincomycin, those who have a history of gastrointestinal disease, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and children under 12 years of age should not use this medication. This medication contains propylene glycol, so individuals allergic to this ingredient should use it with caution. Those with atopic conditions should consult a doctor or pharmacist before use. If you experience dryness, irritation, itching, or rash on the skin, or symptoms such as abdominal pain or diarrhea in the digestive system while using this medication, stop using it immediately and consult a professional. If diarrhea, bloody stools, or colitis symptoms occur, it may indicate serious side effects requiring prompt diagnosis and treatment. When using this medication, sensitivity tests should be conducted to prevent the emergence of resistant bacteria, and it is advisable to use it only for the minimum necessary duration. Clindamycin administered orally or intravenously may be related to severe colitis, so even when using a topical form, attention should be given to side effects. Mild colitis may resolve with discontinuation of the medication, but in severe cases, adequate fluid therapy and electrolyte supplementation will be necessary. If the medication comes into contact with the eyes, it may cause irritation, so care should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes or open wounds; if contact occurs, wash immediately with clean water. Pregnant women should avoid using this medication, and breastfeeding mothers should also refrain from use due to the potential for the drug to be excreted in breast milk. Safety and efficacy have not been established for children under 12 years of age, so it is safest not to use it in this age group. Overuse of this medication can have systemic effects, so the prescribed dosage and administration should be strictly followed. Lastly, this medication should be stored out of reach of children in a secure place, and kept in its original container with the lid tightly closed.
