Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. First, individuals who have had an allergic reaction to this drug, its components, or other Felbinac preparations should not use this medication. Additionally, those who have experienced asthma attacks while using aspirin or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should avoid this medication as it may exacerbate asthma. Patients who have had hives or acute rhinitis caused by aspirin or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are also advised against using this medication. This medication should be used with caution in patients with bronchial asthma. Individuals who have allergies or hypersensitivity to the propylene glycol component in this medication should use it carefully. Moreover, this drug contains sodium metabisulfite which may cause allergic reactions, particularly severe cases that can lead to life-threatening anaphylaxis or asthma attacks. Sensitivity to sulfites is more common in asthma patients. During use, one may experience itching, red spots, rashes, eczema, contact dermatitis, irritation, or blisters on the skin; symptoms should be monitored and usage should be discontinued if severe. Similar skin reactions may occur with the ointment form, and if severe, application should be stopped. Severe allergic reactions accompanied by hives or bronchospasm may rarely occur, so caution is needed. Additionally, gastrointestinal disturbances may occasionally occur with the use of the ointment. This medication serves as symptomatic relief for inflammation or pain, and it should be remembered that it does not treat the underlying cause. When using on areas with skin infections, infection may be concealed, so it should be used in conjunction with antibacterials or antifungals while closely monitoring the condition. When using this medication for chronic conditions like degenerative arthritis, other treatment methods should also be considered, and the patient’s condition and side effects should be observed carefully. During the late stages of pregnancy, this medication may influence labor or cause delays in delivery, so pregnant women or women who may become pregnant, as well as nursing mothers, should not use this drug. Safety for pediatric use has not been fully verified, so it should be used with caution in children. This medication in the form of a cataplasm should not be used on damaged skin or mucous membranes, and its use should also be avoided on areas with eczema or rash. The ointment form should not be applied to the eyes or mucous membranes, and applying it to damaged skin may temporarily cause irritation or tingling symptoms, which calls for caution. Finally, the ointment should not be used with occlusive dressings.
