Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any of its components. Rarely, serious allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis can occur when taking this medication, so if symptoms appear, treatment should be discontinued immediately and appropriate medical intervention should be sought. White blood cell or platelet count may decrease, so it is important to monitor blood status periodically. If there are abnormal liver function test results, the use of this medication should be discontinued as it may cause liver dysfunction. Skin hypersensitivity reactions such as urticaria, rash, and itching may occur, so use should be discontinued immediately if these symptoms arise. This medication can cause neurological symptoms such as dizziness, drowsiness, and numbness, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. Gastrointestinal symptoms may include dry mouth, constipation, abdominal bloating, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, and abdominal pain, and if discomfort persists, consult a doctor. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a doctor before taking this medication, and breastfeeding women should avoid nursing while on this medication. Caution is needed when using this medication in children, especially in low birth weight infants, neonates, and infants, as safety has not been fully established. In elderly patients, the incidence of adverse reactions is not significantly different from that in the general adult population, but they may have reduced physical functions, thus requiring special caution regarding gastrointestinal symptoms. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be transferred to another container as this may cause degradation of quality or accidents.
