Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with certain skin infections. For example, it should not be administered to patients with bacterial infections such as tuberculosis or syphilis, fungal infections like candidiasis or tinea, viral infections such as herpes zoster or herpes simplex, and parasitic skin infections like scabies or lice, as symptoms may worsen. Patients who have had allergic reactions to this medication or its ingredients should also avoid use. Caution is required for patients with eczematous external otitis who have perforations in the eardrum, as healing may be delayed. It is advisable not to use it in patients with skin ulcers, severe burns, or frostbite, as skin regeneration may be inhibited and healing may be delayed. This medication is not recommended for patients with perioral dermatitis, common acne, rosacea, or anal and genital itching. It should not be used in children under 2 years of age. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, nursing mothers, children, the elderly, and those with an allergy to propylene glycol included in this medication should use it with caution. While using this medication, skin infections may occur, and if symptoms appear, use should be discontinued immediately, and appropriate treatment should be sought. Common skin side effects such as skin irritation, rash, itching, and dryness can occur, so it is advisable to stop usage if these symptoms arise. Prolonged use may lead to side effects such as thinning of the skin or vasodilation, so it may be necessary to gradually reduce the dosage and switch to another medication. Using this medication extensively or with techniques such as occlusive dressings may lead to systemic side effects, so regular blood tests should be conducted to monitor the condition. As soon as the symptoms improve, it is essential to stop using the medication as soon as possible, and it must be stopped if symptoms do not improve or worsen. This medication contains sodium benzoate, which may irritate the skin, eyes, or mucous membranes, so caution is advised. Visual disturbances have been reported when corticosteroids are used systemically or locally; thus, if blurry vision or other visual issues arise, it is crucial to consult an ophthalmologist immediately. Pregnant women should avoid using this medication for extended periods or over large areas and should only use it when the therapeutic effect outweighs the risks. Nursing mothers should also exercise caution. In children, the absorption of the drug relative to their body surface area is higher, making side effects more likely, and conditions created by diapers may resemble occlusive dressing techniques, so it is best to avoid prolonged use beyond 3 weeks. The elderly may experience side effects more easily; therefore, they should be monitored very carefully when using large amounts or for extended periods. This medication is not for ophthalmic use and should not be used for purposes other than treatment, such as after makeup or shaving. Occlusive techniques should not be used without medical guidance, and the affected area should be cleaned before application to reduce infection risk. Finally, it should be stored out of reach of children, and long-term studies on the carcinogenicity or genotoxicity of this medication have not yet been conducted.
