This drug should not be used by certain patients. First, patients who have had allergic reactions to this drug or any of its components, including polyethylene glycol, should not use it. Also, patients with kidney disease should avoid using this drug, as the polyethylene glycol component can be absorbed through damaged skin and excreted by the kidneys, which may put a burden on the kidneys. It is also advisable for women who are pregnant or may become pregnant to avoid using this drug, and nursing mothers should also refrain from using it. This drug should not be used for extended periods on damaged skin or torn wounds due to the lack of sufficient safety data indicating it may affect immune function in animal studies. While using this medication, skin irritation symptoms may occur, such as burning sensation, pain, itching, rash, and redness. Occasionally, symptoms like nausea, dry skin, pain, swelling, contact dermatitis, and increased secretion may occur, and rare reports of systemic allergic reactions have also been noted. If severe irritation or allergic symptoms develop on the skin, discontinue use immediately, wash the ointment off completely, and consult a doctor or pharmacist for alternative treatment options. When using this medication, it is important to determine the susceptibility of the infecting bacteria to prevent resistance, and to use it for the minimum duration necessary. Long-term use may lead to excessive growth of other microorganisms, particularly fungi, and caution should be exercised. If symptoms do not improve after using for 3-5 days, it is crucial to consult a doctor or pharmacist to reassess the treatment plan. When applying this medication to the face, care should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes, and it is advisable to refrain from using it on mucous membrane areas such as the eyes or nose. If an overdose occurs, the toxicity is very low, but the affected area should be washed thoroughly and treated as needed according to symptoms. This drug should be used only for external application and should not be applied to mucous membrane areas such as the eyes or nose. It is not suitable for use at central venous catheter sites.
