Treatment of acid-related disorders (such as ulcers); improvement of gastric mucosal lesions; prevention of aspiration of gastric acid before anesthesia
This medication is effective in treating ulcers formed in the stomach and duodenum, and is used to alleviate discomfort caused by reflux esophagitis. It is beneficial for diseases associated with excessive gastric acid secretion, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and is administered for the safety of patients at risk of gastric acid aspiration, especially during childbirth. Additionally, it improves lesions such as erosion, bleeding, redness, and swelling in the gastric mucosa and is effective in alleviating symptoms of acute exacerbation in acute and chronic gastritis. This medication is used to improve symptoms of various gastric-related diseases.
Adults: 1) Gastric or duodenal ulcer, reflux esophagitis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: Administer 75mg of roxatidine acetate hydrochloride per dose orally twice daily, after breakfast and dinner. For gastric or duodenal ulcers, 150mg per dose may also be administered once daily in the evening. Gastric and duodenal ulcers are usually treated within 4 weeks, but symptoms resolve within a few days. If the ulcer has not healed after 4 weeks of treatment, continue the same dose for an additional 2 weeks. For patients with impaired renal function and a creatinine clearance of approximately 20~50mL/min, administer 75mg per dose once daily in the evening. For patients with a creatinine clearance of 20mL/min or less, administer 75mg per dose every 2 days in the evening. 2) Acute gastritis or acute exacerbation of chronic gastritis: Administer 75mg per dose once daily after the evening meal or at bedtime. 3) Pre-anesthetic administration: Administer 75mg per dose twice (at bedtime on the day before surgery and 2 hours before induction of anesthesia on the day of surgery). Adjust the dose as appropriate according to age and symptoms.
