Relief of inflammation and pain in conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis
Used for the relief of pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, periarthritis of the shoulder, dental pain, post-traumatic inflammation, low back pain, sciatica, and non-articular rheumatism.
Take 100 mg of aceclofenac orally every 12 hours, twice a day. This medication should be taken whole, without chewing or crushing. The dosage may be adjusted appropriately according to symptoms. To minimize cardiovascular adverse reactions, it should be administered at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration possible.
Patients who regularly consume more than three drinks a day should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication, as there is a risk of gastrointestinal bleeding in such cases. This medication may increase the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events. Particularly in patients with cardiovascular disease risk factors, the risk of serious thrombotic events such as myocardial infarction or stroke may be heightened; hence careful administration is required. The longer the dosage and duration, the higher the risk of cardiovascular issues; therefore, it is advisable to use the minimum effective dose for the shortest duration possible. This medication can cause serious gastrointestinal side effects, such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforation. Especially in older patients or those with a history of gastrointestinal issues, caution is crucial, and any symptoms of gastrointestinal bleeding during treatment should be reported to a healthcare provider immediately. Patients with active peptic ulcers or bleeding, those allergic to this medication or similar drugs, patients with asthma or a history of aspirin hypersensitivity, severe heart failure, and those with significant renal or hepatic dysfunction, pregnant women in late pregnancy, and nursing mothers should not take this medication. Patients with renal impairment, heart failure, hypertension, asthma, or liver dysfunction should use this medication cautiously and closely observe for any changes in symptoms during treatment. Common side effects during medication may include gastrointestinal disturbances, dizziness, abnormal liver function, and rarely, serious side effects such as skin rashes, dyspnea, cardiovascular anomalies, and kidney issues may occur. Before taking this medication, it is necessary to check for potential drug interactions, especially in patients currently taking anticoagulants, diuretics, antihypertensives, or antidiabetic medications. During pregnancy, especially in the later stages, this medication may pose risks to the fetus; therefore, women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should avoid taking it, and nursing mothers should refrain from use. Safety for use in children and adolescents has not been established, and it is not recommended for this population. Older adults are at an increased risk of gastrointestinal bleeding, so extra caution is warranted when administering this medication. If an overdose occurs, symptoms such as gastrointestinal irritation, hypotension, respiratory depression, and convulsions may arise, and immediate medical attention should be sought for appropriate treatment. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container is discouraged as it may affect quality.
