This medicine is used for its antibacterial action to cleanse normal skin and wound areas. It is also effective for hand disinfection during surgery, personal hand sanitation, and skin disinfection of the surgical site prior to surgery. This helps in infection prevention and maintaining a safe surgical environment. It is used to keep the skin clean and reduce the risk of infection.
1. Cleansing normal skin and wound areas: Wipe the area to be cleansed with water, apply the minimum amount necessary to the skin or wound, and gently wipe off. Rinse thoroughly with water. 2. Hand disinfection during surgery: Wet hands and forearms with water. Apply 5 mL of this product to the hands and up to the elbows and rub for about 3 minutes using a brush or sponge. Rinse thoroughly under running water.
This medication contains chlorhexidine gluconate and is used for the disinfection of skin or mucous membranes. It should not be used on patients who are hypersensitive or on sensitive areas such as the nervous system, ears, eyes, genital areas, bladder, or oral cavity. Particular caution is necessary when used directly on the brain, spinal cord, or ear, as it may cause hearing damage or neurological disorders. It should also be used with care around mothers close to childbirth and newborns. Hypersensitivity reactions such as rashes or hives may occur, so usage should stop if such symptoms appear. It is safest for pregnant or breastfeeding women not to use this medication. This medication is for external use only and should not be ingested or injected. In case of accidental ingestion, the stomach should be cleansed immediately, and one should go to the hospital. Care should be taken to prevent contact with the eyes, and if it does come into contact with the eyes, it should be thoroughly rinsed with clean water immediately. It is advisable not to use this medication on extensive wounds or burn areas, especially as preterm infants and newborns have a higher risk of systemic side effects. The effectiveness of this medication may be reduced by organic materials such as soaps or serums, so the area must be washed thoroughly before use. Using clean distilled water for dilution is preferable, and any leftover diluted solution should be discarded immediately after use. This medication can corrode metal or glass ophthalmic instruments, so it is advisable not to use it. During storage, appropriate temperature and pH should be maintained, avoiding high temperatures or prolonged storage. When using this medication, always closely monitor the area of application and the patient's condition, and consult with a specialist immediately if any adverse reactions occur.
