Dosage and Administration
As erdosteine, administer 300 mg orally, 2 to 3 times a day. Do not administer for more than 10 consecutive days for acute respiratory diseases.
Precautions
This medication should not be used by patients who are allergic to this medication or its components. Patients with liver cirrhosis or specific enzyme deficiencies should not take this medication as its metabolites can be harmful to the body. Patients with peptic ulcers should exercise caution as symptoms may worsen upon taking this medication. It is also safer for patients with severe kidney dysfunction or significantly impaired liver function to avoid this medication. Patients with slightly impaired liver function, those with diabetes, or those on a low-calorie diet should limit the dosage or use this medication cautiously. This product contains certain dyes, so individuals allergic to these dyes should be careful. In case of overdose, sweating, dizziness, and flushing may occur, so the prescribed dosage should be adhered to. Side effects like headache, cold symptoms, respiratory distress, digestive disorders, and skin rashes may occur rarely, thus consultation with a doctor is necessary if any abnormal symptoms appear. Caution is required when using this medication with expectorants as it may impede the expulsion of phlegm from the bronchi, increasing the risk of bronchial infections. For pregnant or breastfeeding women, the safety of this medication is not guaranteed, so it is advisable to refrain from taking it if possible. Keep out of reach of children, and transferring the medication to another container can reduce the quality of the medication or cause accidents, so caution is advised.
