Corticosteroids are primarily used to relieve inflammation and itching occurring on the skin. This medication reduces symptoms of skin diseases caused by allergic reactions or immune responses, thereby alleviating patient discomfort. It is particularly effective for various skin conditions that respond to corticosteroids, such as atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, and psoriasis. It helps improve skin conditions by reducing inflammation and itching. Therefore, this medication is utilized to relieve symptoms of skin inflammation and itching.

How to use

Adult use

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with certain skin infections. For example, it should be avoided in patients with skin infections caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, or animals, as symptoms may worsen. Additionally, patients who are allergic or hypersensitive to this medication or its components should not use it. Care must be taken in patients with eczematous otitis externa and tympanic membrane perforation, as healing delays may occur. It should also be avoided in patients with skin ulcers, severe burns, or frostbite, as skin regeneration may be delayed. It is recommended not to use it in patients with perioral dermatitis, common acne, rosacea, or those experiencing itching around the anus or genitals. It is not to be administered to infants under 2 years old. Pregnant or potentially pregnant women, nursing mothers, children, and the elderly should use this medication with caution. Patients with a history of allergy or hypersensitivity to the ingredient propylene glycol included in this medication should also be careful. During use, various skin side effects such as skin infections, irritation, rash, itching, and dry skin may occur. Long-term or extensive use may lead to skin changes or systemic side effects due to steroids, so caution is needed. If used around the eyes, caution should be taken due to the risk of increased intraocular pressure or glaucoma. This medication is not generally used for eczema or dermatitis accompanied by a skin infection; if it must be used, it is advised to use it in conjunction with an antibacterial or antifungal agent. Even with local application, there may be hormonal function suppression or side effects due to absorption into the body, necessitating regular monitoring when used over extensive areas or with occlusive dressings. Discontinue use as soon as symptoms improve, and cease use if symptoms worsen or do not improve. This medication contains sodium benzoate, which can cause mild irritation to the skin, eyes, or mucous membranes. If pregnant or breastfeeding, the use of this medication should be carefully considered as it may affect the fetus or newborn; consult a doctor prior to use. Children have a higher risk of side effects due to their larger body surface area relative to their weight; therefore, it is recommended not to use continuously for more than 3 weeks. Elderly individuals may have a higher likelihood of side effects, so careful observation is necessary when using in large amounts or for long periods. This medication should not be used for ophthalmic purposes and should not be used for non-therapeutic purposes such as after makeup or shaving. When using occlusive dressings, it is crucial to follow the doctor's instructions and keep the affected area clean. Store in a location out of reach of children and ensure it is stored safely.
