Relief and treatment of inflammatory pain
This medication is used to relieve mild to moderate pain caused by inflammation in adults aged 19 and older. It also helps treat moderate acute pain due to inflammation that does not improve with other analgesics such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen in adolescents aged 13 to 18. Therefore, appropriate pain relief effects can be expected according to age groups.
Adults aged 19 and older: Take 1 to 2 capsules orally every 4 hours. Maximum of 12 capsules per day.
Children aged 13 to 18: Take 1 to 2 capsules orally every 4 hours. Maximum of 12 capsules per day. The treatment duration should be limited to 3 days, and if effective pain relief is not achieved, a specialist should be consulted.
This medication is a combination analgesic containing codeine, ibuprofen, and acetaminophen, and various precautions must be strictly followed during use. Firstly, codeine is converted into morphine in the liver, and the metabolic rate varies among individuals, which may cause a rapid increase in morphine levels in some patients, potentially leading to serious side effects. Therefore, if symptoms such as slowed or irregular breathing, confusion, drowsiness, constricted pupils, constipation, and loss of appetite occur while taking this medication, usage should be immediately discontinued and a doctor consulted. Additionally, individuals who consume more than three alcoholic drinks daily should consult a doctor or pharmacist before using this medication. Taking it with alcohol can increase the risk of liver damage or gastrointestinal bleeding. Ibuprofen, included in this medication, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug and can increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases, gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, etc., so caution is required for individuals with a history of heart disease or gastrointestinal disorders. The acetaminophen component can cause liver damage in case of overdose, so one must avoid taking it with other acetaminophen-containing medications, and patients with impaired liver function should definitely consult a doctor before use. Patients under 18 who are obese, have obstructive sleep apnea, or severe lung diseases should avoid using this medication, as the risk of sedation, respiratory depression, and coma increases when combined with narcotics or central nervous system depressants, and it should only be used under a doctor's guidance. Especially, individuals who are hypersensitive to this medication, or have asthma, severe respiratory depression, severe liver or kidney disorders, severe hypertension, hemorrhagic colitis, peptic ulcers, children under 12 years old, pregnant women in late pregnancy, or breastfeeding should not use this medication. Possible side effects include dizziness, dyspepsia, nausea, constipation, drowsiness, confusion, skin rash, and respiratory depression, and if symptoms are severe, immediate consultation with medical personnel is necessary. Moreover, prolonged use (more than 4 weeks) can lead to drug dependence, liver damage, kidney problems, etc., so long-term use must be discussed with a physician. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should avoid using this medication, and if breastfeeding, it is recommended to discontinue breastfeeding, as the medication can be transmitted through breast milk and may pose a risk to the baby. Finally, children, elderly individuals, and frail patients have weakened physical function, increasing the risk of side effects, so careful monitoring by a physician during use is required. This medication should be taken strictly according to the doctor's prescription and instructions, and if any unusual symptoms occur, medical personnel should be notified immediately.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication should be stored in a sealed container that is not exposed to air and kept at room temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius. Storing it this way will maintain the medication's effectiveness and ensure safe usage.
