Treatment of dermatophyte infections (such as tinea pedis, tinea corporis, etc.), tinea versicolor, and cutaneous candidiasis
This medication is used for the treatment of dermatophyte infections caused by fungi such as Trichophyton, Microsporum canis, and Epidermophyton floccosum, including tinea pedis, tinea cruris, and tinea corporis. It is also effective for tinea versicolor caused by Pityrosporum orbiculare (or Malassezia furfur). Additionally, it aids in the treatment of cutaneous candidiasis. In summary, this medication is used to treat various types of skin fungal infections.
Apply to the affected area (site of the condition) 1 to 2 times a day. The treatment duration varies by condition: 1. Tinea pedis: Apply once daily for 1 week. Interdigital tinea pedis: Apply twice daily for 1 week. Plantar tinea pedis: Apply twice daily for 2 weeks. 2. Tinea corporis, tinea cruris: 1 to 2 weeks. 3. Cutaneous candidiasis: 1 to 2 weeks. 4. Tinea versicolor: 2 weeks. Even after the treatment period, if clinical symptoms do not improve.
This medication should not be used by individuals who are allergic to it or any of its components, or who have previously experienced such reactions. It is also advisable not to use this medication in women who are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. It is recommended to avoid use in children. If a rash or allergic reaction occurs while using this medicine, stop using it immediately and consult a doctor or pharmacist. Similarly, if irritation of the skin occurs or symptoms worsen, seek professional advice immediately. If symptoms such as hives, red spots, itching, irritation, skin inflammation, peeling, scabs on wounds, pigmentation changes, stinging pain, or burning sensation occur, stop use and consult a professional. This medication contains propylene glycol, so individuals allergic to or sensitive to this ingredient should use it with caution. It is advisable not to cover the treated area with airtight dressings or bandages without consulting a physician. If there is no effect from using this medication, check for other possible fungal infections and seek appropriate treatment. When dealing with Candida infections, avoid using acidic soaps. Caution should be observed if the drug is applied to areas with wounds, large areas, or in young children, as this medication may be absorbed into the body and have systemic effects. If the medication is accidentally ingested, use activated charcoal to remove the active ingredient and seek appropriate treatment for any symptoms if necessary. This medication is for external use only and should not be applied to mucous membranes such as the mouth or eyes. In case of contact with the eyes, irritation may occur, so rinse immediately with plenty of water and remain cautious about potential worsening of fungal infections. It is safest to avoid using this medication on nails, the scalp, around the mouth, or on the genital area. Reports from animal studies indicate that this medication may exhibit slight toxicity when exposed to light, so it's important to take care regarding sun exposure. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and kept tightly closed in its original container. Transferring the medication to a different container may reduce its quality or increase the risk of misuse, so caution is advised.
