Relief of muscle pain, joint and tendon disorders (arthritis, tenosynovitis, etc.), and post-traumatic pain and swelling
Gels, ointments, and creams are primarily used to alleviate pain from degenerative arthritis (osteoarthritis), shoulder periarthritis, tendinitis, epicondylitis (tennis elbow), and muscle pain (including myositis and myofascial pain), as well as post-traumatic swelling and pain. These medications relieve uncomfortable symptoms through analgesic and anti-inflammatory actions. Patches are also applied for degenerative arthritis, tendinitis, muscle pain, osteoarthritis pain, post-traumatic pain, and pain relief after fracture healing. The appropriate formulation can be chosen based on the patient's symptoms, enhancing treatment effectiveness. These medications effectively improve pain and inflammation related to musculoskeletal disorders.
(Gel)(Ointment)(Cream) Adults: Apply 1g (approximately 3cm) to the affected area 3-4 times a day and rub in gently until absorbed. (Patch) Apply 1 patch to the affected area every 2 days. However, after bathing or showering, or when sweating, 1 patch may be applied daily. Clean and dry the affected area. Peel off the release liner and apply the medicated side firmly to the skin, pressing it down well with the palm of your hand. In particular, make sure the edges of the patch are firmly attached.
This medication contains piroxicam, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug used to relieve inflammation and pain. This medication should not be used by individuals who have had allergic reactions to this drug or other piroxicam formulations. Patients who have experienced asthma attacks induced by aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may have severe asthma exacerbations if this medication is used and should not take it. Additionally, individuals who have experienced allergic reactions such as hives, rhinitis, or angioedema from aspirin or NSAIDs should not use this medication. Safety has not been established for children under 14 years of age, so it should not be used. Patients with bronchial asthma should exercise caution as this medication may exacerbate asthma attacks. When using this medication, skin side effects such as itching, redness, rash, eczema, dermatitis, contact dermatitis, and erythema may occur, and in rare cases, symptoms of photosensitivity can also arise. If these skin symptoms worsen, use should be discontinued immediately. Long-term use or overdose may cause nausea, gastrointestinal discomfort, shortness of breath, and kidney dysfunction, so caution is required. Particularly, in patients with kidney disease, serious side effects such as acute interstitial nephritis may occur. As this medication provides symptomatic relief, it is not a treatment for the underlying cause. When used for inflammation accompanied by skin infections, it may worsen the infection; therefore, it should be used along with appropriate antimicrobial or antifungal medications, and the condition should be closely monitored. When used for chronic conditions such as degenerative arthritis, it is important to consider other treatment methods alongside drug therapy and closely monitor the patient's condition for potential side effects. In the late stages of pregnancy, this medication should not be used as it may delay delivery and poses risks of bleeding, neonatal respiratory problems, and decreased kidney function. In early to mid-pregnancy, animal studies have not shown toxicity to the fetus, but safety in humans is not well established, so caution is required. Since this medication's ingredients may be excreted in breast milk, it is advisable for nursing women not to use this medication. Safety has not been established for premature infants, newborns, infants, toddlers, and children, so they should not use this medication. Elderly patients may be more susceptible to side effects, so only the minimum necessary dose should be used with caution. This medication should not be applied to areas with skin wounds, bleeding skin conditions, eczema, infected areas, burns, or on the eyes or mucous membranes. The use of this medication with a sealed bandaging method is not advised, and care should be taken as transient irritation may occur if there is skin damage.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication may be sensitive to air or moisture, so it must be stored in a well-sealed container. It's important to maintain a storage temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius to safely preserve the effectiveness of the medication.
