Treatment of bacterial skin infections (impetigo, folliculitis, etc.)
This medication is effective against major bacteria causing skin infections, including methicillin-resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus and other staphylococci, streptococci, as well as gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Haemophilus influenzae. It is used to treat various bacterial skin infections including impetigo, folliculitis, boils, and infectious eczema. Moreover, it is applicable to bacterial skin infections arising from trauma or burns. It helps improve diverse bacterial infections and restores skin health.
Apply a small amount to the infected area 2-3 times a day for 10 days. If necessary, the treated area may be dressed or sealed.
This medication should not be used by individuals allergic to this drug or its ingredients, or who have a history of hypersensitivity to polyethylene glycol-containing ointments. Patients with renal impairment should exercise caution as the ingredients of this drug may be absorbed through damaged skin and excreted via the kidneys. It is safer for women who are pregnant or may become pregnant to avoid using this medication. Breastfeeding women are also advised to avoid using this medication and should discontinue breastfeeding if necessary. Long-term use of this medication on torn wounds or damaged skin should be approached with caution due to the risk of compromised immune function. During use, skin allergic reactions such as burning sensation, stinging pain, itching, rash, and red spots may occur; if symptoms develop, discontinue use and consult a physician or pharmacist. Occasionally, symptoms such as nausea, dry skin, tenderness, swelling, contact dermatitis, and increased exudate may occur. Rarely, systemic allergic reactions may occur; therefore, if any unusual symptoms arise, consult a healthcare professional immediately. When using this medication, susceptibility testing should be conducted to prevent the emergence of resistant strains, and it should only be used for the minimum duration necessary for treatment. Prolonged use may lead to the overgrowth of other microorganisms such as fungi, necessitating caution. If symptoms do not improve after using for 3-5 days, consult a healthcare professional to review the treatment option. Care should be taken when using on the face to avoid contact with the eyes, and it should not be applied to the mucous membranes such as those of the eyes and nose. This medication is known not to affect driving or operating machinery. When used in conjunction with other medications, caution is advised as this drug's efficacy may be reduced or its stability may be compromised. Due to insufficient data on the safety of this drug during pregnancy or breastfeeding, it is advisable to avoid its use. Although toxicity is low in cases of overdose, the skin should be washed thoroughly, and treatment should be administered according to symptoms. This medication is for external use only and should not be applied to mucous membranes such as those of the eyes or nose. It is not recommended to use at the site of central venous catheter insertion. Keep this medication out of reach of children, do not transfer it to another container, and dispose of any remaining medication after use.
Systemic allergic reactions
