Improvement of acne vulgaris
This medication is primarily used for the treatment of acne vulgaris, or common acne.
Adjust the dose according to treatment response and patient tolerance. The affected area should be cleaned, and this medicine is generally applied lightly 1-2 times a day. At the start of treatment, apply once a day (before bedtime), and if the patient adapts well, increase to twice a day (morning and evening).
This medicine should not be used in patients with inflammatory conditions or in those with hypersensitivity to this medicine or its components. Those with dry or oily atopic skin, as well as erosive skin, should use this medicine with greater caution, and in these cases, it is advisable to choose a lower concentration product. This medicine contains an ingredient called propylene glycol, therefore, individuals who have allergies or hypersensitivity to this component should use it with care. During use, symptoms of skin irritation such as contact dermatitis, allergic dermatitis, or severe erythema may appear, and care should be taken as hair or colored fabrics may become bleached. If severe irritation or persistent discomfort occurs, use should be immediately stopped, and consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is recommended. Using this medication may increase skin sensitivity to sunlight, so it is advisable to avoid sun exposure and use sunscreen during treatment. When first using the product, mild stinging or skin redness, or peeling may occur, which is part of the normal treatment process. Sudden dryness or peeling of the skin may occur 1-2 weeks later, but these effects are also temporary, and they will resolve quickly if treatment is paused. To reduce irritation symptoms, do not use on already irritated skin and avoid using it in conjunction with other keratolytic agents or cleansers. Use a mild cleanser and limit washing to a maximum of 2 times a day while avoiding cosmetics with fragrance or alcohol. In the initial treatment and throughout, take care to avoid exposure to sunlight, and avoid the use of ultraviolet lamps. Greater caution is needed for bright or sensitive areas of the skin. Mild irritation symptoms that occur when first using are not indicative of weak skin, so it is advisable to perform a test application on a small area before use. If irritation symptoms worsen, increase the interval between applications or reduce concentration, and if symptoms are severe, discontinue use and seek alternative treatments. It is safest not to use this medicine in conjunction with other topical acne treatments. If pregnant or nursing, the safety of this medicine has not been established; it should be used with caution only when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks and especially it is recommended not to use it in the last month of pregnancy. The safety and efficacy of this medicine in children have not been sufficiently established. If excessive use leads to severe red spots, swelling, etc., discontinue use immediately, and cool compresses may help. This medication is for external use only and care should be taken not to let it come into contact with mucous membranes such as the eyes, nose, and mouth. If it gets into the eyes, wash thoroughly with clean water immediately, and if irritation persists, consult a specialist. It is safe not to use it on wounded or damaged skin areas. Finally, it should be kept out of reach of children.
