This medication is used to treat various inflammatory diseases occurring in the external eye and anterior segment in the form of eye drops. The 0.02% eye drops are effective for the treatment of external inflammatory conditions such as blepharitis, conjunctivitis, keratitis, scleritis, and episcleritis. The 0.1% eye drops are also used for treating anterior segment inflammation such as iritis, iridocyclitis, uveitis, and postoperative inflammation. These conditions can cause discomfort and vision impairment, making timely treatment important. This medication aids in smooth inflammation relief and symptom improvement, helping to protect eye health.

How to apply drops

Adult eye dose

Instill 1-2 drops once, 2-4 times a day. Adjust as needed based on symptoms. Discard the remaining solution and container immediately after use (for single-use only).

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with viral keratitis, fungal eye diseases, mycobacterial infections, or chronic blepharitis. Additionally, patients with hypersensitivity to this medication should avoid its use. Careful use is required in patients with corneal epithelial detachment or ulcers, tuberculosis or purulent eye diseases, glaucoma patients, and infants under 2 years old. Prolonged use of this medication may increase the risk of elevated intraocular pressure, glaucoma, optic nerve damage, so regular intraocular pressure checks are necessary. Secondary infections such as keratitis or fungal infections may occur, so appropriate treatment should be sought if symptoms arise. Long-term use may also pose a risk of cataract development, and immune suppression may increase the risk of infections. In cases of acute purulent conjunctival infection, the use of this medication may conceal or worsen symptoms, so caution is advised. During use, abnormal symptoms such as eye inflammation, mydriasis, conjunctival hyperemia, and ptosis may occur. This medication contains phosphates, and in rare cases, corneal calcification may occur in patients with severe corneal damage. Care should be taken as wound healing may be delayed after surgery, and prolonged use may inhibit pituitary and adrenal cortex function. If hypersensitivity symptoms occur, use should be immediately discontinued. Using this medication on red eyes without a doctor's diagnosis may pose risks of blindness, so consultation with a specialist is essential. Patients with a history of herpes simplex virus require careful observation and evaluation. If used for more than 10 days, regular intraocular pressure checks should be performed, and this medication is not effective for mustard gas keratitis and Sjögren's conjunctivitis. If inflammation or pain persists or worsens for more than 48 hours, use should be immediately discontinued, and consultation with a physician is necessary. Contact lens wearers should remove their lenses before administration and can rewear them at least 30 minutes after administration. Temporary blurred vision may occur upon instillation, so driving or operating dangerous machinery should be avoided. If infected with chickenpox or measles during use, serious complications may occur, thus prevention and monitoring of infections are very important. Special caution is required for children and patients taking CYP3A4 inhibitors due to the increased risk of systemic adverse reactions. Concomitant use with CYP3A4 inhibitors may increase systemic exposure and the risk of adverse effects, so careful use is necessary. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should avoid prolonged or frequent use, and nursing mothers should avoid administration or stop breastfeeding. The safety for infants and children has not been established, thus caution is needed for use. Elderly patients should use with greater caution due to decreased physiological functions. This medication is for ophthalmic use only and care should be taken to prevent the tip of the container from coming into direct contact with the eye. Before use, shake well and avoid sharing to prevent contamination, and single-use products should be used immediately after opening, discarding any remaining solution. When using for the first time, discard 1-2 drops to remove container fragments. This medication should be stored out of reach of children in a cool place away from direct sunlight and should not be transferred to another container. For multi-use products, it is advisable to always store the eye drop bottle upright.
