This medicine is used for digestive dysfunction caused by aerophagia and bloating, such as bloating-induced indigestion, neurogenic gastrointestinal disorders, and irritable bowel syndrome. It also helps to eliminate intestinal gas during X-ray examinations and is effective against digestive dysfunction accompanying bloating that may occur after surgery. This drug is used to reduce intestinal gas, alleviate discomfort, and improve gastrointestinal function.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults: Take 1 capsule three times a day before meals. For the elimination of intestinal gas during X-ray examinations, take 1 capsule 2 hours before the examination.

Precautions

This medicine should not be used in patients with gastrointestinal bleeding, obstruction, or perforation. It is also safer not to administer it to patients with tardive dyskinesia taking muscle relaxants. For elderly patients, this medication should be administered cautiously. It contains the pigment Yellow No. 5, so patients who are allergic or have hypersensitivity reactions to this ingredient should take caution. While taking this medicine, neurological symptoms such as drowsiness, anxiety, insomnia, numbness of the lips or tongue, and numbness of the hands and feet may occur. If these symptoms arise, stop taking the medication immediately. Additionally, muscle stiffness in the mouth and throat may rarely occur, so discontinue use if these symptoms appear. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as constipation, nausea, dry mouth, loss of appetite, hunger, and diarrhea may occur, so care should be taken. Allergic reactions such as rashes, itching, and hives may occur on the skin, so if these symptoms arise, stop taking the medication. Endocrine system effects may rarely produce symptoms like galactorrhea, menstrual irregularities, gynecomastia, and erectile dysfunction. Liver function test values may rise, so be mindful of liver health. Blood-related issues such as methemoglobinemia may occur, so consult a doctor for any abnormal symptoms. Fatigue or weakness may appear during the course of this medication, so be observant of your physical condition. Driving or operating dangerous machinery should be avoided during the use of this medicine. This medication may mask vomiting symptoms, so caution should be exercised in suspected conditions like bowel obstruction or cerebral edema. Interactions may occur when taken with other medications, particularly tranquilizers, sleeping pills, narcotic analgesics, phenothiazines, anti-dopaminergic agents, digoxin, and cimetidine. The safety for children has not been established, so it is advisable to avoid use in children. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the risks and benefits of this medication before using it. Breastfeeding women should avoid use because this medicine may be transmitted through breast milk. In case of overdose, symptoms such as drowsiness, loss of orientation, and muscle stiffness may appear, and immediate medical attention should be sought for gastric lavage and appropriate treatment.
