How it is given

Adult administration

As Diclofenac β-Dimethylaminoethanol, inject deeply into one side of the upper buttock 90mg daily. In severe cases, it may be administered 90mg twice a day, alternating between both sides of the buttock for each injection. After the initial treatment period, switch to oral tablets or suppositories. Dosage should be appropriately adjusted according to age, condition, and symptoms. To minimize cardiovascular adverse reactions, the shortest duration of minimal effective dosage should be used.

Precautions

This drug may cause gastrointestinal bleeding if taken by people who regularly consume more than three alcoholic beverages a day, so consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is essential. Being a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, it may stress the cardiovascular system and increase the risk of myocardial infarction and stroke. Particularly, those with cardiovascular diseases or risk factors should be extra cautious, and if cardiovascular symptoms arise while taking this drug, they should inform medical personnel immediately. Serious adverse reactions such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, or perforations may occur, so caution is needed for those with a history of gastrointestinal diseases or elderly patients. During the administration of this drug, gastrointestinal symptoms should be closely monitored, and if any abnormalities occur, immediate treatment should be sought. Severe chest pain or allergic myocardial infarction may occur due to allergic reactions, so it should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to this drug. Care is especially needed during the use of ampoule injections due to the risk of glass particle contamination, and extra caution is required when administering to children or the elderly. Those with specific conditions such as peptic ulcers, severe blood disorders, liver dysfunction, kidney dysfunction, hypertension, and heart failure should not take this drug. Individuals with a history of allergic reactions to aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should also avoid administration. Careful administration is necessary for those with a history of peptic ulcer disease, impaired kidney or liver function, asthma, and the elderly, and those sensitive to sodium bisulfite should pay attention to allergic reactions. This drug rarely causes shock, gastrointestinal bleeding, blood disorders, skin rashes, liver dysfunction, kidney failure, hypersensitivity, neurological symptoms, etc. Therefore, treatment should be stopped immediately and consulting with medical personnel is necessary if any abnormal symptoms arise. Regular blood tests and liver and kidney function tests should be conducted during long-term use, and special attention should be paid to excessive temperature drops or symptoms of collapse. This drug may exacerbate hypertension and can cause fluid retention or edema, so caution is necessary in heart failure patients. Taking it together with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, aspirin, lithium, methotrexate, or warfarin may increase the risk of interactions and side effects, so consultation with a doctor is required. Especially in late pregnancy, it may harm the fetus, so usage should be avoided, and if nursing, it may pose a risk of adverse reactions in infants, necessitating either the cessation of breastfeeding or discontinuation of the medication. Elderly patients and children should use the minimum dosage cautiously and closely monitor for any adverse reactions.
