How to take

Adult dose

For rebamipide, 100 mg is to be taken orally three times a day. However, in the case of gastric ulcers, it should be administered in the morning, evening, and before bedtime.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have had hypersensitivity reactions to its ingredients. Additionally, it should not be administered to patients with genetic conditions such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption since it contains lactose. During the use of this medication, severe allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis may occur; therefore, if any unusual symptoms appear, administration should be immediately stopped and medical advice should be sought. Regular blood tests are necessary as white blood cell or platelet counts may decrease; discontinue use immediately if symptoms of liver dysfunction or jaundice occur. Dermatologic hypersensitivity reactions such as urticaria, rash, and itching may occur, as well as neurological symptoms such as paralysis, dizziness, and drowsiness. Gastrointestinal symptoms may include dry mouth, constipation, abdominal distension, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, abdominal pain, belching, and taste disturbances. If liver enzyme levels rise abnormally or if fever and rash accompany, the medication should be discontinued and medical attention should be sought. Hematologic abnormalities such as thrombocytopenia or leukopenia may also arise, requiring caution. Other symptoms such as breast pain, gynecomastia, galactorrhea, palpitations, fever, flushing of the face, tongue paralysis, cough, difficulty breathing, hair loss, menstrual irregularities, and swelling may occur. Pregnant women should use this medication only if the benefits outweigh the risks, as its safety has not been established. Nursing mothers should avoid this medication as it may be excreted in breast milk. The safety of this medication in children, particularly low birth weight infants, newborns, and young children, has not been adequately verified; caution should be exercised in their use. Elderly patients generally have decreased physiological functions, so greater care should be taken regarding adverse reactions like gastrointestinal symptoms. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and transferring it to other containers should be avoided as it may cause accidents or degrade the quality.
