This medication is used for stroke, mental confusion (a condition where the mind is unclear), and symptoms related to wind-heat.

How to take

Adult dose

Typically, an adult should take 1 dose of 1 granule or 1 packet 1 time a day before or between meals with warm water. Alternatively, an adult may take 5 granules before or between meals with warm water once a day. Alternatively, an adult may take 15 granules, 20 granules, or 25 granules before or between meals with warm water once a day.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as the rhubarb component can cause uterine contractions, increasing the risk of miscarriage or premature birth. Additionally, breastfeeding women should also avoid this medication, as some components of rhubarb may pass into breast milk and cause diarrhea in infants. It is also safer for newborns or patients with weakened bodies, and those having chills or diarrhea not to take this medication. People allergic to soybean oil, beans, peanuts, etc., should avoid taking this medication due to the possibility of allergic reactions to its components. Individuals with lactose intolerance or certain genetic metabolic disorders should not take this medication as it contains lactose which may worsen symptoms. Patients taking other medications should consult with a professional as there may be interactions with this drug. Individuals with diarrhea or loose stools, weak stomachs, loss of appetite, or nausea and vomiting should consult a professional before taking this medication. Patients with issues related to fat metabolism or diseases related to fat, such as hyperlipidemia, diabetic hyperlipidemia, or pancreatitis should exercise caution. If symptoms such as facial or extremity swelling or increased blood pressure occur while taking this medication, stop taking it immediately and consult a professional. If muscle weakness or paralysis symptoms develop, this may indicate the possibility of hypokalemia, hence stop taking the medication immediately and inform a healthcare provider. If symptoms include indigestion, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, skin rash, or hives, stop taking and consult a professional. If symptoms do not improve in a few days, stop taking and consult a physician. If taking this medication for an extended period, be sure to consult a professional, and strictly follow the established dosage and administration guidelines. Particularly, the diarrhea-inducing effect of the rhubarb component varies by individual, therefore dosage should be carefully adjusted.
