This medication is primarily effective for rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease), ankylosing spondylitis, tendinitis (tendinitis), acute gout, and dysmenorrhea. It is also used for bursitis and musculoskeletal disorders (sprains, strains, trauma), back pain, postoperative pain, migraines, and post-extraction pain. This medication helps improve various inflammatory diseases and pain.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

1. Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis: Administer 275-550mg of sodium naproxen orally twice a day (every 12 hours). 2. Acute gout: Administer an initial dose of 825mg orally, followed by 275mg every 8 hours until the episode resolves. 3. Musculoskeletal disorders, postoperative pain, post-extraction pain, dysmenorrhea, tendinitis, bursitis: Administer an initial dose of 550mg orally.

Precautions

This medication should be consulted with a doctor or pharmacist if consumed by individuals who regularly drink more than three alcoholic beverages a day due to increased risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. Also, this medication may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, so those with a history or risk factors of heart disease or stroke need to be particularly cautious. Serious gastrointestinal issues such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforations can occur, so gastrointestinal symptoms should be monitored closely during treatment, particularly in the elderly, who may be at greater risk. People with a history of peptic ulcers, severe blood abnormalities, liver dysfunction, heart failure, kidney dysfunction, severe hypertension, or hypersensitivity to the ingredients of this medication should not use it. Additionally, individuals who have experienced asthma or allergic reactions from aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should also avoid this medication. Careful use is advised for patients with a history of peptic ulcers, blood abnormalities, bleeding tendencies, liver dysfunction, kidney dysfunction, heart dysfunction, hypertension, hypersensitivity, asthma, autoimmune diseases, and the elderly. While using this medication, abnormal symptoms such as allergic reactions, gastrointestinal bleeding, blood abnormalities, liver and kidney issues, headaches, drowsiness, skin rashes, auditory and visual disturbances may occur, requiring immediate consultation with a doctor if they appear. This medication should be used at the lowest effective dosage for the shortest duration and regular blood tests and liver and kidney function checks are required for use in chronic conditions. Possible interactions may occur with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, antiepileptics, antihypertensives, diuretics, and anticoagulants, so inform your doctor of all current medications. In the last trimester of pregnancy, its use should be avoided as it may pose risks to the fetus, and it is also advised not to use while breastfeeding. It is preferable not to administer this medication to infants under two years of age due to undefined safety, and elderly individuals should start with a lower dosage and use it cautiously. Overdose may lead to symptoms such as drowsiness, dyspepsia, and vomiting, and immediate medical attention should be sought in such cases. This medication should be stored in a secure location out of reach of children, and transferring to other containers should be avoided as it may affect the quality.
