This medication is used for the prevention and treatment of iron deficiency anemia. It improves symptoms of anemia caused by lack of iron and supports the patient's health recovery by helping normal blood production and oxygen transport function.

How to take

Adult dose

For adults, take 80 mg of iron once, 1 to 2 times a day after meals, without chewing.

Child dose

For children over 12 years old, take 80 mg of iron once, 1 to 2 times a day after meals, without chewing.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious poisoning if accidentally ingested by children, especially those under 6 years old; therefore, it should be stored out of reach of children. Patients with allergies to any of the ingredients in this medication, infants under 12 months old, or those with certain blood diseases, liver diseases, or pancreatitis should not take this medication. It should not be taken with phosphates, calcium salts, certain antibiotics, antacids, etc. that can interfere with iron absorption or interact with it. While taking this medication, it is advisable to avoid tea containing tannins such as green tea or black tea, as well as milk and dairy products. If you have any underlying condition or are taking other medications, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a physician, dentist, or pharmacist before taking this medication. If unusual symptoms such as hives, skin rash, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, or fever occur during use, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a professional.   • Significantly decreased urine output, severe swelling of the body and increased blood pressure

Mild side effects

Abdominal and gastric pain, gastric cramps, vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, loss of appetite, constipation, black stool, tooth discoloration, discomfort in the stomach, hives, itching, skin hypersensitivity upon sun exposure, occasional increase in AST and ALT levels, rarely elevated ALP levels, fever, coma, bronchial constriction, cough, hemoptysis, lung infection

Drug interactions

This medication should not be taken with phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, and antacids. It should also not be taken with iron-containing preparations, aldosterone antagonists, triamterene, diphosphonic acid salts, thyroxine, cefdinir preparations, salicylates, phenylbutazone, oxyphenbutazone, quinolones, penicillamine, cholestyramine, pancreatic extracts, vitamin E, and ascorbic acid (vitamin C) in doses greater than 200 mg.

Food interactions

This medication should be avoided during or before and after taking tea containing tannins, such as green tea and black tea, as well as milk and dairy products.
