Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with viral keratitis, fungal eye diseases, mycobacterial infections, or chronic blepharitis. It should also not be administered to patients with hypersensitivity to this drug. Caution is required for patients with corneal epithelial damage or corneal ulcers, patients with tuberculosis or purulent eye diseases, glaucoma patients, and infants under 2 years of age. Prolonged use can lead to increased intraocular pressure, glaucoma, and optic nerve damage; therefore, regular monitoring of intraocular pressure is necessary. This medication may worsen corneal infections; if symptoms of infection appear, consult a healthcare professional immediately. There is a risk of cataract formation and secondary infections due to immune suppression with long-term use, so caution is required. In cases of acute purulent ocular infections, this medication may mask or worsen symptoms. If inflammation or pain in the eye persists or worsens for more than 48 hours, discontinue use and consult a doctor. Contact lens wearers should remove lenses before using this medication and may reinsert them at least 30 minutes after application. Temporary blurriness may occur upon instillation, so avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery. Serious problems may arise if infected with chickenpox or measles during the use of this medication, so vaccination status and medical history should be confirmed. Caution should be exercised in children or patients taking certain medications (such as ritonavir, cobicistat) as systemic side effects may occur. This medication may interact with other drugs, so consult a healthcare professional if used concurrently. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid prolonged use and should follow the guidance of a specialist if use is unavoidable. Special attention is required for children or the elderly as their physiological functions may differ. This medication is for ocular use only, and care should be taken to avoid direct contact of the container tip with the eye. Shake well before use and avoid sharing to prevent contamination.
