Precautions

This drug can cause a serious lung condition known as interstitial pneumonia; therefore, if fever, cough, shortness of breath, abnormal sounds in the lungs, or abnormalities are found in chest X-ray during use, discontinue immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Patients taking interferon preparations, or those with cirrhosis or liver cancer should not take this medicine, and patients with very low platelet counts due to chronic hepatitis should also avoid it. This drug contains lactose, so individuals with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take it. Taking this drug with interferon preparations increases the risk of interstitial pneumonia; thus, it should never be taken together. Patients with hypertension, heart or kidney diseases, edema, those taking other medications, older adults, pregnant or potentially pregnant women, children, patients with very weak constitution, patients with liver dysfunction due to chronic hepatitis, and those who have previously had allergic reactions to the medication should definitely consult with a healthcare professional before taking this drug. If swelling of the face or hands and feet occurs, or if blood pressure rises along with headaches, muscular weakness, or pain, discontinue immediately and inform medical personnel. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and constipation may occur, so caution is advised. If symptoms of liver dysfunction or allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching, or hives occur, discontinue and consult a professional. If urinary-related symptoms such as frequent urination, pain during urination, hematuria, sense of incomplete bladder emptying, or cystitis occur, stop taking the medication and seek appropriate treatment. If symptoms do not improve after 1 week following cold symptoms or more than 1 month in general cases, discontinue and consult medical personnel. Long-term use is not recommended, and if long-term use is necessary, it must be discussed with a professional. Adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage and frequency, and be cautious when taking this drug with other medications that contain potassium or licorice as there may be risks of hypokalemia and muscle-related side effects. When taking this drug with other herbal medicines, ensure that the ingredients do not overlap, and chronic hepatitis patients should regularly check platelet counts. This medicine should be stored in a cool place away from direct sunlight and out of the reach of children. It is dangerous to transfer the medication from its original container into another; hence, it must be kept in its original container sealed.
